IVCH Utica Medical Center Opens May 20th
Elizabeth Ritz, M.D., will begin receiving patients at the new
Illinois Valley Community Hospital Utica Medical Center on May 20th.
Opening the medical office, which is located on the west side of Route 178 just south of its intersection with Route 6, fulfills a public commitment made by IVCH to bring a physician to Utica .
Dr. Ritz, who is board-certified in internal medicine, is currently in medical practice in Peru with Mario Cote, M.D. She is a graduate of Rush Medical College in Chicago . Before moving to the Illinois Valley in 2000, Dr. Ritz was on the medical staffs of Illinois Masonic Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago .
Dr.Ritz will have office hours on
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Patients can make appointments by calling 815-667-4277.

Friday, 23 May from 5:45 - 6:30, the Hegeler Carus Mansion will host the students of Contance Deal for a recital. There will be approximately 18 people playing, and Anne Badger will accompany on piano. Many of the students will be playing in small groups.
Three of the students participated in the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra's Concerto Contest earlier this year. Lauren Finkelstein and Gabriella Crivilare will be playing the 1st movement of the Bach Double Violin Concerto. Tara Kunkel will perform a different piece from the concerto she played, "The Boy Paganini" by Edward Mollenhauer.
Other students will be performing a wide variety of pieces starting with the traditional Suzuki Method Twinkle Variations to fiddle music. They will be ending with "Climb Every Mountain" which goes along with Constance's belief that string music is like climbing a mountain. All ages can participate with patience and desire.
In the style of the old country doctor Constance Deal is a traveling violin teacher. She teaches at OPUS 111, in Ottawa, at IVCC, in Geneseo, and Annawan. She is also a member of Music to Remember, a piano trio that performs at weddings, receptions, and private parties; and, the Knox-Galesburg Symphony Orchestra.
The Hegeler Carus Mansion is located at 1307 Seventh Street, La Salle. The concert is free to the public and a reception will follow. |
