MUSIC AT THE MANSION
Lyric Winds will be playing at the
Hegeler Carus Mansion
on 21 November from 5:45 - 6:30.
This talented woodwind quartet features
Sue Gillio on the flute,
Elizabeth Bishop on oboe,
Gene Montgomery on the clarinet,
and Terri McTaggert on the bassoon.
A variety of selections will be performed,
some of which will be movie themes.
Music at the Mansion is held once a month
to feature local musicians.
All performances are free to the public,
but donations are always welcome.

Nouveau Wine Celebration
It’s time to celebrate the release of the first wine of the 2008 vintage
year at our Nouveau Wine Celebration. This year we will be celebrating
wild west style! Be on the lookout for the Nouveau wine bandit. He is
wanted for stealing the large magnum bottle of Nouveau wine which
is due to arrive at August Hill Winery on Friday, November 21st
at 6 pm sharp. Downtown Utica anxiously awaits Wild Bill Hickok’s
arrival to save the wine from the Nouveau Wine Bandit!
After the adventure on the street, local historian Steve Dancey will
delight us with the stories of Wild Bill Hickok. And don't forget to
venture inside the Tasting Room to see the miniature bronze statue
of Wild Bill Hickok, which was created by local artist, Bill Piller.
The Nouveau celebration will continue all weekend long.
On November 23 at 4:30 pm, we will have the raffle drawing for
the large magnum bottle of the 2008 Nouveau wine.
Tickets for this raffle will be sold throughout the weekend and
proceeds will be donated to St. Margaret's Hospital Foundation.
Be sure to stop by local restaurants who carry August Hill Wines as
they will have a special meal prepared for you to enjoy with the
2008 Nouveau wine (Cajun Connection, Canal Port, Duffy's,
Nodding Onion, Skoogs and Foothills Organics).

one focusing on meditation, the other on
cultivating the mind of enlightenment.

Hegeler Carus Mansion

This interactive production features actors portraying
the original Hegeler family in period costumes.
Guests are treated to a truly old-fashioned Christmas party
complete with singing and dancing, much as visitors
would have been in 1893.
Some of the discussion this year centers on the recently
closed Columbian Exposition which the Hegelers
and Caruses have visted. Dr. Carus even has photos
of some of the buildings from this impressive
White City, and he will, of course, relate his
impressions of the Parliament of World's Religions
and his new interest in Buddhism.
Tickets are $15 and may be purchased
