Owl Prowl Weekend

March 9^th 10^th and 11^th

On Friday and Saturday Steve Bailey an ornithologist will
be here for Owl Programs and Owl Walks.  Programs are
at 6:00p.m. with an Owl Walk to follow both days, finishing
back at the Lodge around 8:30p.m.  Price is $10.00 for
adults and $7.00 for children 10 yrs and younger.  Everyone
should plan on bringing a flashlight.  During the program,
Steve will have some owl specimens, feathers and pellets.
He will be trying to call in a Screech, Barred and Great
Horned Owls.  Maybe if we are lucky we will see some
nests or uncommon wintering owls.

On Saturday and Sunday “Hoo” Haven Wildlife and
Education Center from Durand IL will be here with their
owls for a presentation.  Programs are at 10:00a.m., 12:00
and 2:00p.m. Price is $5.00 adults and children 10 and
under are ½ price.

Cotton Patch Gospel

After a delicious Hot Lunch Buffet, sit back and enjoy this full-length,
two-act musical experience.  This show has its origins in the vernacular
translation of the book of Matthew, authored by Koinonia Farm’s founder
Dr. Clarence Jordan.  Actor / playwright Tom Key, inspired by Dr. Jordan’s
writing, further developed the story of how Joe Davidson and Mary Hagler
 raised the most miraculous human ever to be born in Gainesville, Georgia
(Jesus).  After hearing the original one-man show, renowned singer/songwriter
Harry Chapin was inspired to write music and lyrics and turned the show into
a toe-tapping musical.  Phil Kaufmann is taking the show back to its one-man
roots with Harry Chapin’s music for a one-of-a-kind show.  Phil received
permission from the Chapin family to record Harry’s sound track.  Phil plays
all the instruments and vocal back up parts along with over 20 characters on
stage in this one man musical.

Take a Hike---and a Lunch

Join us for a guided hike from the Lodge to LaSalle and Tonti Canyons.
Participants meet in the Hotel Lobby to pick up a lunch and a
“Starved Rock” backpack. Hikers will stop for lunch once they reach
LaSalle Canyon. After lunch, the hike continues to Eagles Cliff and
 Lover’s Leap. The tour concludes at the Lodge about 2:00pm.

 Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.
 Hike will be approximately 4 ½ miles round trip.
 Lunch includes your choice of turkey, ham or peanut butter and jelly;
