The Hegeler Carus Foundation presents...
"Adventures with Audubon"

On Sunday, July 12 at 2:00 p.m. the Hegeler Carus Foundation is pleased to offer “Adventures with Audubon” presented by Brian “Fox” Ellis, Historian and Storyteller.

Author and storyteller Brian “Fox” Ellis, in the persona of John James Audubon, brings history, ecology, art and literature to life in this meticulously researched program that celebrates the life work of one of America ’s greatest artists and naturalists!  Ellis’ performance draws from Audubon’s own journals, essays, and letters to his friends and colleagues.  This program was developed with a grant from the USFWS as part of their celebration of the 100^th anniversary of the National Wildlife Refuge System.  “Fox” has performed as Audubon in museums, nature centers, schools and libraries across the United States , including Audubon’s home in Herderson , Kentucky .

Bring the whole family for this free lecture which will be followed by a reception.  Donations are always gratefully accepted by the Hegeler Carus Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation.

Please note this special Second Sunday lecture will be at 2:00 p.m.

Summer Afternoon Tea and Canal Boat Ride

Float down the historic I & M Canal on The Volunteer and then enjoy tea with Mary Todd Lincoln. Bring your BFF or your daughter or mom and slow down for an afternoon of indulgence. Guys, this is also a great way to let your wife or girlfriend know how much you care for her, with a day she’s sure to appreciate!

First, experience a leisurely ride along the canal, where Larry or Moe pulls the boat and a period clothed interpreter tells their story of the canal. Then, enjoy tea in the Lock 16 Center. Full tea includes scones with Devonshire cream and jam, sandwiches, sweets and a variety of hot and cold teas.
